Qatar Diamond League postponed

The opening round of the Diamond League season, originally scheduled for May 8 in Doha, Qatar, has been postponed until June 19. Organizers cited the ongoing conflict in the Gulf and concerns for athlete and spectator safety as the reasons for the delay. This track and field meeting is the latest in a series of top sporting events in Qatar to be disrupted following air attacks on Iran by the U.S. and Israel, and Iran's subsequent missile responses. Due to anticipated higher temperatures in June, the event will also be moved from the Qatar Sports Club to the temperature-regulated Khalifa International Stadium. Other affected events include the Qatar MotoGP, the World Endurance Championship opening leg, and the cancelled "Finalissima" soccer match between Spain and Argentina.
