Cricket NSW says David Warner aware of ‘seriousness’ of drink-driving charges

Former Australian opener David Warner, 39, has been charged with drink-driving after allegedly blowing more than twice the legal limit in a random breath test in Sydney over the weekend. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 7. Cricket New South Wales (NSW) stated it would support Warner through the process, while also emphasizing its commitment to educating him on safe driving given its strong advocacy against drink-driving and partnership with Transport for NSW. Warner, who retired from international cricket in 2024, allegedly told police he had three glasses of wine before driving. He is reportedly returning to Pakistan to captain Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
