Mobile Network Operators Warned Against Poor Service
The district administration of Upper Chitral has issued a stern warning to mobile network operators, particularly Telenor, regarding persistent public complaints about poor service quality. Assistant Commissioner Sultan Nooruddin Ahmar convened a meeting with representatives from all relevant telecom companies to address the widespread issues, including network outages, weak signals, and inadequate service. Ahmar emphasized that providing reliable services is the companies' responsibility and demanded immediate corrective measures, stating that further complaints could result in legal action against operators and tower owners, potentially leading to the sealing of mobile towers. This intervention comes after years of poor service, especially in remote areas where Telenor is often the sole provider, highlighting the critical need for improved communication infrastructure in the region.
