Chitral Today

A book launch ceremony was held at the Chitral Press Club for 'Sail Doi Yo,' the first travelogue written in the Khowar (Chitrali) language. Authored by renowned writer and researcher Dr. Inayatullah Faizi (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), the event was presided over by Professor Mumtaz Hussain and attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral Muhammad Khalid Khan (Tamgha-e-Shujaat) as the chief guest. Speakers praised the book for its literary merit and its vivid depiction of the geographical, historical, and cultural landscapes of Italy, Spain, and Qatar, where the author traveled. DPO Muhammad Khalid Khan highlighted Khowar's richness and its capacity to encompass all literary genres, emphasizing the role of language and literature in promoting peace and countering extremism. The event, jointly organized by Chitral Press Club and the literary organization MIER (which also published the travelogue), celebrated Dr. Faizi's contributions to Khowar language and literature, marking the book's publication as a milestone for Chitral's literary landscape.
