Karachi Airport: 2 Pakistanis offloaded from Thailand for same-sex wedding

Two Pakistani passengers were offloaded by FIA Immigration at Karachi Airport while attempting to travel to Thailand. According to FIA officials, the men, who hailed from Punjab, were traveling on tourist visas. Upon questioning about the purpose of their trip, it was revealed that they intended to travel to Thailand for a same-sex marriage. The article contextually highlights that this incident is part of a broader trend, as 2339 passengers have been offloaded and 3363 Pakistanis deported from Karachi Airport in the first two months of 2025 alone. This incident underscores the challenges faced by individuals seeking same-sex unions in countries where such marriages are not legally recognized, and the measures taken by authorities to prevent travel for purposes deemed contrary to local legal or social norms.
