Chinese experts re-erect a 624-year-old banyan tree that fell in a torrential downpour

Chinese forestry experts successfully re-erected a 624-year-old banyan tree in Fujian province that had fallen due to heavy rainfall from Typhoon Saudel. The ancient tree, weighing over 100 tons, was located in a scenic recreational area in Zhangzhou city in eastern China. After days of continuous severe rain, the tree toppled on September 3rd. Forestry experts and local authorities worked tirelessly, ensuring the tree's roots remained moist throughout the process, to restore it to its upright position.
