21 Cricket Legends Urge PM Shehbaz to Ensure Imran Khan Gets Court-Ordered Medical Care

Twenty-one former international cricket captains have appealed to Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging him to ensure PTI founder Imran Khan receives the Supreme Court-ordered medical treatment. This appeal follows concerns that Khan was only briefly taken to PIMS for examination instead of Shifa International Hospital, as mandated by the Supreme Court on August 18, and then quickly returned to jail. The legends, including Greg Chappell, Sunil Gavaskar, and Steve Waugh, are advocating for an independent medical examination, specifically for reported vision loss in Khan’s right eye, and for his personal doctors to be part of the medical board. They also demand weekly family visits and prompt implementation of any recommended treatment. This is the second such appeal, with 14 former captains having expressed similar concerns in February.
