A fast-moving, human-caused wildfire named the Hawk fire has rapidly expanded to cover more than 13,000 acres in Reno, Nevada. The blaze is pushing from the Sierra foothills towards the city center and has reached the edge of the University of Nevada campus. Nearly 90,000 residents have been urged to evacuate, with 42,000 under strict orders, due to the threat to neighborhoods. Strong, gusty winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation are fueling the fire, prompting calls for residents in warning zones to prepare for extended stays away to facilitate emergency response.
