ACC leadership reshaped

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bangkok on August 22, 2026, leading to significant leadership changes and governance reforms. Khalid Al Zarooni of the UAE was unanimously elected ACC vice-president, and new Executive Board members were appointed for the 2026–2028 term, including representatives from Qatar, Singapore, Maldives, and Bahrain. Crucially, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) was added to the rotation for the ACC presidency, previously held by Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India, reflecting the council's goal of broadening representation. ACC President Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi congratulated the new officials, emphasizing the council's commitment to strengthening cricket across Asia and expanding opportunities for emerging nations.
