Personal care products are awash in unlabeled toxic chemicals, study finds

A new peer-reviewed study has revealed that common personal care products frequently contain unlabeled toxic chemicals, including carcinogens and other health hazards. Out of more than 110 items tested, ranging from shampoo to baby lotions, approximately 85% showed evidence of these unlisted compounds. Notably, even products marketed as 'eco', 'green', or 'natural' were found to contain dangerous substances, with 26% of such products having at least one hazardous compound. On average, products contained over three times more chemicals than what was disclosed on their labels, raising significant concerns about consumer safety and regulatory oversight in the personal care industry.
