Islamabad, Rawalpindi Weather: Scattered Monsoon Rains Predicted

Scattered monsoon rains with isolated heavy downpours are predicted for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening, night, and Monday, with occasional breaks. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) attributes this to moderate monsoon currents and a westerly wave affecting the region until August 24. These conditions may lead to flash flooding in Northeast Balochistan and D. G. Khan, and landslides in mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Temperatures in Islamabad are expected to be 33-35°C on Monday and 34-36°C on Tuesday, while Rawalpindi will see 31-33°C on Monday and 32-34°C on Tuesday. Significant rainfall has already occurred in various areas over the past 24 hours, with Islamabad recording 85mm in Saidpur and Rawalpindi 64mm in Shamsabad.
