Xiaomi Unveils Its First Humanoid Robot

Xiaomi has unveiled its first humanoid robot prototype, Tieda, at the 2026 World Robot Conference, following four months of real-world training within its electric vehicle factory. Tieda, standing 1.70 meters tall and weighing 66kg with 66 degrees of freedom, demonstrated significant improvements in tasks like nut installation, achieving a 98% success rate, close to human worker qualification. The robot, powered by Xiaomi’s Robotics AI using its open-source Vision-Language-Action model, performs complex movements autonomously. This development is part of Xiaomi's broader investment in AI and advanced technology, though the company states Tieda is currently for internal validation and large-scale commercialization is still distant.
