Investigation into the accident at the coal mine in Soranj, a suburb of Quetta, has not been completed.

Investigations into a coal mine accident in the Surinj area near Quetta, Balochistan, which occurred on July 30 and killed 34 miners due to a gas explosion, have not yet been completed. The Balochistan government initiated three inquiries: a departmental inquiry, a Court of Inquiry, and an inquiry by the Chief Minister's Inspection Team (CMIT). Both the departmental and Court of Inquiry were expected to submit their reports within 15 days, but have requested more time as investigations remain unfinished. The CMIT has also yet to visit the affected mine, having requested security from the Home Department to do so before it can complete its investigation and submit its report.
