Balochistan High Court suspends Election Commission’s show cause notice regarding Pashtunkhwa Map’s election symbol

The Balochistan High Court has suspended a show-cause notice issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) concerning the withdrawal of its election symbol. The PKMAP had challenged the ECP's notice, issued on July 8, 2026, by filing a writ petition. During the hearing, the High Court issued a notice to the ECP and ordered the suspension of further proceedings based on the show-cause notice, effectively halting any action against the party's symbol. The writ petition was pursued by Habibullah Nasir, Central Secretary Law and Advocate Supreme Court, and Barkhurdar Achakzai on behalf of the PKMAP. The party has hailed the court's decision as a significant step towards safeguarding its constitutional and legal rights.
