FIA sets up Pre-Departure Facilitation Desk to help Travellers fly with Confidence

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Pakistan has launched Pre-Departure Facilitation Desks in Karachi and Lahore to assist Pakistani passengers with understanding travel documentation requirements before they arrive at the airport. This initiative aims to make international travel easier and more transparent, allowing travelers to address potential issues in advance. The move comes after thousands of passengers were offloaded in 2025 due to strengthened airport screening to combat human smuggling and forged documents, which also led to public concerns and disciplinary actions against FIA officials for invalid stops. The new desks are expected to provide timely guidance, bridge information gaps, and ensure genuine travelers are better prepared, ultimately smoothing the international travel process.
