Rawalpindi: Woman brought from Bangkok on pretext of marriage forcibly raped, case registered

A case of alleged sexual assault has been registered in Rawalpindi after a woman, brought from Bangkok under the pretext of marriage, reported being forcibly raped. The victim filed the First Information Report (FIR) at Rawat Police Station, stating she met and befriended Aamir Sohail two years ago in Bangkok, who promised to marry her in Pakistan. Four months ago, they moved into a rented flat in Bahria Town, where the accused allegedly subjected her to multiple instances of sexual assault and evaded her demands for marriage. The victim also reported that the accused restricted her movement, physically assaulted her on the day of the report, and stole her money before she managed to escape and seek medical attention. The case has been transferred to the Special Sexual Investigation Unit (SSIU) for further investigation.
