Balochistan raises Salaries, Pensions by 7pc in line with Punjab, Sindh

The Balochistan government has announced a 7% increase in salaries and pensions within its Rs1.089 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, aligning with increases in Punjab and Sindh. Despite financial constraints, the province unveiled a surplus budget of Rs45.66 billion, pledging 5,000 new jobs and increased spending on health and education without imposing new taxes. Significant allocations include Rs96 billion for health and Rs127 billion for school education, along with reductions in Capital Value Tax and stamp duty on property transfers. This budget reflects fiscal discipline and aims to be relief-focused and development-oriented, with a focus on social sectors and economic empowerment.
