Suit filed to force Trump administration to address cancer-linked pesticide pollution

A new lawsuit has been filed against the Trump administration, specifically targeting the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for its alleged failure to address widespread atrazine pollution. The suit claims that the EPA has, for decades, violated its duties under the Clean Water Act by not adequately regulating surface-water contamination from this hormone-disrupting pesticide. Atrazine, a chemical linked to cancer, is now reported to be contaminating nearly 25% of all continental U.S. rivers, totaling approximately 860,000 miles. This extensive pollution poses a significant threat to both wildlife and human health, affecting over 20% of surface drinking water intakes and more than 675,000 private and commercial wells nationwide. The lawsuit seeks a federal judge's order to compel the administration to take action on this critical environmental and public health issue.
