Azad Kashmir elections, Raja Pervez Ashraf demands re-polling under military supervision

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has expressed serious concerns over alleged electoral irregularities in Azad Kashmir's constituency LA-12 Charhoi. Ashraf claims that PPP polling agents were forcibly removed from several polling stations, and there were reports of armed individuals influencing the electoral process and alleged fake voting. He has demanded that the Election Commission immediately halt the results for the disputed polling stations in LA-12 and conduct a transparent investigation. Following the investigation, Ashraf called for re-polling under the supervision of the army at the affected polling stations to restore public trust in the electoral process. He emphasized that free and fair elections are a fundamental democratic right and urged the Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Kashmir to provide an equal electoral environment for all candidates and not to announce final results for the constituency until re-polling is completed.
