First phase of Azad Kashmir elections, unofficial and final results begin to emerge

The initial unofficial and preliminary results for the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections have started to emerge. Out of 13 constituencies, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) is leading on 8 seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidates have an advantage on 5 seats. This first phase involved voters from 13 constituencies across three districts of Mirpur Division: Mirpur, Kotli, and Bhimber. For LA-1 Mirpur-1, with 17 out of 139 polling stations reporting, PML-N's Azhar Sadiq leads with 1692 votes against PPP's Muhammad Afsar Shahid with 1482 votes. In LA-2 Mirpur-2, with 40 out of 149 polling stations reporting, PPP's Qasim Majeed is ahead with 3455 votes, while PML-N's Azeem Bakhsh Chaudhry trails with 2915 votes.
