Revised Pay Scales by Merging Ad Hoc Allowances Planned

The federal government in Islamabad has decided to introduce a revised pay structure for public sector employees by merging ad hoc relief allowances from 2022 and 2025 into basic salaries, effective July 1, 2026. These changes, part of broader relief measures, will lead to new pay scales for government employees, armed forces personnel, and pensioners. Additionally, a 7 percent ad-hoc relief allowance on current basic salary, a continued 15 percent Disparity Reduction Allowance, and a 50 percent increase in conveyance allowance are under consideration. Significant increases are also proposed for specific allowances, such as the Constant Attendant Allowance for civil armed forces and the IMPAS allowance for Immigration and Passport Department employees, along with enhanced special allowances for NACTA and law enforcement, aiming to rationalize salaries and provide financial relief.
