Fish prints and shapes have UK shoppers hooked this summer

Fish prints and marine life-themed fashion and homewares are becoming a significant trend among UK shoppers this summer, according to retailer John Lewis. The retailer, which previously declared the death of florals, notes that fish are now its customers' 'catch of the day.' This trend encompasses items from sardines and sprats to crabs, with sales of starfish-shaped earrings up 300% month-on-month and a fish-printed skirt accumulating a waiting list. In homeware, sales of fish-shaped glass tumblers have risen 400%, and 'gluggle jugs' (fish-shaped ceramic pitchers) are becoming popular, with Wade Pottery versions seeing a 129% sales increase. This indicates a notable shift in consumer preferences towards aquatic-themed designs in the UK market.
